Being a longtime fan of Italian cinema of the 1960s and ’70s, I was always intrigued and amazed by the fantastic cars tearing up the roadways in those films. Of particular note were the car chases in films of the ’70s, where the police would speed through metropolitan streets passing myriad amazing FIAT vehicles of the era. Compelled by these images in my mind, I traveled to Italy — and was astonished to see these vintage cars still in use as daily drivers. Smitten by the little 500, I purchased a 1972 500L and shipped it back home to New York, where it is parked with honor next to my 1973 Alfa Romeo Giulia Super, 1968 FIAT Dino Spider and 2013 Abarth.

I purchased the 2012 FIAT 500 POP a couple months ago, and it is the most fun car I have ever owned — and I have owned 16 cars in my lifetime. It is also the first new car I have ever purchased. With all of its added features it truly is a great car and one that’s a lot of fun to drive. I would really like to purchase the upgraded model and customize it!Candy Buckalew
The boy I dated in high school had a FIAT 124 convertible. He stole my heart.
That was 31 years ago, and he still has it today—! This year he bought me my own FIAT 500C.Do you have a FIAT vehicle story of your own? Share it with us!
