on by FIAT USA

When you first lay eyes on the FIAT® 500 Abarth, you can tell it’s unlike any other vehicle on the market today. With its sleek curves and unmistakable Italian-inspired design, the FIAT 500 Abarth is a feast for the eyes — not just for owners, but for everyone they drive past on the road. Today, we’re taking a look at the inner beauty of the Abarth by taking you on a tour of what the Abarth has going on under the hood — because we believe that you can’t give drivers the total package unless you have the right technology to get the job done. One look at the Abarth and you can tell that this isn’t your average, everyday roadster. There’s something mysterious about it, something that you just can’t quite put your finger on, but you know you want to wrap your hands around. It has the sleek style that exudes sexiness and the power to make any car buff take notice. It’s where the Abarth gets its signature attitude and where the pulse pounding fun begins. At the core of the Abarth is the 1.4-liter 16V MultiAir® Turbo engine that provides 160 horsepower and 170 pound-feet of torque. But the Abarth’s under-the-hood prowess doesn’t stop there. We’ve included some of the most state-of-the-art, modern engine amenities to ensure that your ride is as smooth and fast as Karl Abarth would want it. The intake system features a high-flow air filter, a redesigned air box and smooth flowing pluming for maximum power and low induction noise. The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) provides specific engine calibrations to help maximize horsepower and torque in Sport mode. So while you might feel the pull of the engine the most, rest assured that there are many more advanced technological elements helping you conquer the blacktop. 2012 Fiat 500 Abarth's 1.4-liter MultiAir¨ Turbo engine Discover more about what makes the FIAT 500 Abarth one of our most powerful and sought-after models. When will the 2015 be available?

I recently bought a 2013 Fiat Abarth (bought it new). I really like the car and it compares very well, or better, with three sports cars I’ve owned over the years. The exhaust note is quite nice and I didn’t have to pay big bucks for an after-market engineered system. I don’t know what changes/improvements have been made on the 2015 model but I’d like to see: a telescoping steering wheel, delete the “shift up” light which is a waste of space given it doesn’t do anything useful, make the tach easier to read in daylight, improve the interior materials quality and have an option where the useless back seat is deleted and replaced with a nice cargo shelf level with the cargo area floor. But, I think this is the best sports car for the money out there…….and I don’t want to hear any crap form Miata owners (which is an ok car with not enough power and a farty exhaust system).

you can turn off the shift light via the buttons on the tachometer, the car has to be on, but not driving it down the road
