I turned 16 and received my driver's license in 1976 and fell in love with a beautiful '76 Spider It was dark green metallic...black interior and top. I went to the dealer every day for a week. I drove the car, caressed the fenders...felt the leather, and I was hooked! She was a beauty! I pulled all of my savings together and took my father to see her. But, alas, love was not meant to be. My father thought that I was too young and the lady too fast. Now in 2012, my lady has taken a different shape...a beautiful 500 in Verde Oliva! I'm much older, a husband, and a father myself now...but I finally have my FIAT! And couldn't be happier! Time has passed but we were meant to be!Eva Van Stratum
I happened upon my 8th FIAT 2 years ago, a 1971 Spyder in decent condition. When the new 500's came out, the local FIAT Studio hosted an Italian Car get-together and I took the '71. I didn't really have that much interest in a new car, but they were letting us test drive them & I loved the light green color. [I] justified buying it because my other real car has 125K miles on it, and the gas mileage was excellent. My tall husband fits and it's a daily driver now.Keti Kilcrease
My 15 year old daughter, Katie, loves my FIAT 500 Sport. She named it Fiona. We drove down to Southern California to visit family. It was a smooth ride- unexpected for such a little car. While visiting my aunt, Katie revealed her plan to take Fiona to college with her. My aunt wondered if all her belongings would fit, and Katie assured her that it was okay as she'd already planned how she was going to pack her stuff in the car and it would all fit! This is when she was still a freshman in high school! She's got the FIAT packed and loaded in her mind! Hey wait- it's MY car!Do you have a FIAT Story of your own? Share it with us!
