The annual SEMA Show is one of the world’s premiere automotive specialty trade events, and we have a few very cool reasons to be excited for this year’s festivities. In May, we asked customizers to submit proposals for how they’d upfit a FIAT 500 Abarth with both lifestyle and performance in mind.   In June, a design from Magneti Marelli was selected for production, and the design team received an Abarth to transform. From Oct. 30 through Nov. 2, the world will see what Magneti Marelli cooked up, with the shop’s custom vehicle on display at SEMA Show. Customization is inherent to the FIAT brand, with over 500,000 ways to build a truly unique factory version of three different 500 models – the 500, 500c and 500 Abarth.  And at last year’s SEMA Show, FIAT displayed the 500 Titanium and 500 Carbon – 500 Sports with Mopar-modified honeycomb grills, cat-back exhausts and lowered springs.

We have a couple of surprises under the drape for SEMA Show 2012 that will be on display along with the Magneti Marelli design. While SEMA Show’s not open to the general public, there are a few ways for fans to take part.  If you’re as obsessed with customization as we are, share your story on FIAT Backstage for a chance to win an all-inclusive trip to 2012 SEMA Show for a personal tour of our roster. More casual observers can check in with FIAT Backstage for coverage, or follow FIAT USA on Facebook or Twitter for live updates from the show floor.  Can’t wait for the show? Get a sneak peak now.
